I’m sure many of you have a favorite bookstore or library in your area that you like to browse for hours. I love discovering new bookstores near me to go check out, especially because it means I’m not supporting Amazon or B&N.
But there are also a ton that I am dying to go visit, but they are just too far away! You may have heard of some of them before, and there are a ton of others on my list (but I didn’t want to make this post too long). Let’s check them out!
*None of the images are mine, I do not own them.
Daunt Books — London, England
Number one on my list is a famous bookstore in England! First off, it has always been my dream to live in London for a few months, and that is finally going to come true this Fall! I will be studying abroad this September, and I’m actually going to be living in the same neighborhood as Daunt! That is a bit dangerous honestly, but I am so excited that I will be able to make this visit a reality soon.
Shakespeare & Company — Paris, France
This is a popular one that many people have heard of before. I have always dreamed of going to France and seeing this bookstore. The original Shakespeare & Co, which was closed during WWII, was a gathering place for many famous writers, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, and more!
Al Ateneo Grand Splendid — Buenos Aires, Argentina
I am in love with this bookstore. It has such a beautiful design. It is built inside of an old theater, which is really cool! I am just mesmerized by the rows of shelves, incredible ceiling, and floors of books. You could truly spend hours inside of this bookstore and not get bored. It looks like there are tons of spaces to explore.
Cărturești Carusel — Bucharest, Romania
This is probably my favorite bookstore on the list, and I hope that I will be able to travel here while I am in Europe in order to visit it, too! It looks so crisp and aesthetically pleasing. I can see all of the bookstagram possibilities here! And, of course, so many books to look at!
City Lights Books — San Fransisco, California
Finally, we have a bookstore here in this US that I want to visit! There are tons that I have yet to go to in my home country, but this is one I would really like to go to one day. I love the pink tone of the building and the pretty interior. Plus, I’d love to walk around San Fransisco, too. It feels like such a popular YA book setting!
There you have it! Here are a few of the bookstore I want to visit (some hopefully soon!). Do you have any bucket list bookstores? Let me know in the comments!
