August TBR

Hey, loves. The last month of summer is upon us. I am so confused as to how that happened but I’m also so excited to get back to school already, so it’s very bittersweet.

I read so many books in July, so I am not stressing myself out too much when it comes to reading this month. There are two read-a-thons that I do want to participate in, though. Both are month long, so I have plenty of time, and I am definitely going to be stacking up on challenges between the two.

N.E.W.T.S:

I sat for my O.W.L.S back in April, I believe, so I am ready to take my N.E.W.T.S now! I was a journalist/writer, which means I have to get an A in two subjects, and an E in one subject. That is only 4 books in total, which is completely doable.

E in history of Magic
– A- read a fantasy: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
– E- read a book with a map: The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett

A in Muggle Studies
– Cover that includes an actual photo element: My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

A in any other subject (herbology)
– Listen to an audiobook: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

Disney-a-thon:

This is a new month-long read-a-thon where you get to pick a team and then complete the team challenges. I have chosen to be part of team Tangled because it’s one of my favorite Disney movies. Let’s look at the challenges.

Rapunzel- Read a book with glowing reviews: Fix her Up by Tessa Bailey

Flynn Rider- Read a dark/mysterious book: My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

The Snuggly Duckling Crew- Read a book with a dreamy cover: 100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons

Mother Gothel- Read a book with a power-hungry character (must be out of your comfort zone): The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett
*I’m not sure if this one entirely fits, but the father is a treasure hunter and he seems scary (and it’s historical fiction so definitely out of my comfort zone)

Maximus- Read the group book: A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

Special Ability: we can travel the map as we please

In all, this is only seven books that I need to read, which is something I have been doing each month. I am stressed because I’m a mood reader, but hopefully, I can convince myself to read all of these!

Are you participating in any read-a-thons? Let me know in the comments!
